That is good news. Android would to easily hackable to some, frankly Nintendo doesn't need that sort of problems.

I agree it is good news, but I disagree that what you said is a real problem. Probably the easiest console ever to hack is the Wii which is one of their biggest successes. If it creates any problem it is that the possibility of it happening seems to distract them from better decisions. |

The wii is more hackable out of the generation, but Android is easier to pirate and install the games.
Im glad it isn't Android based, however where did the rumours originate from i wonder? |

For a moment there I thought they would have easy access to the android library and save themselves from death by irrelevance. Of course they might be doing a deal with apple to run under a version of iOS.

I liked the simple Android idea but hack-ability would have killed games sales while skyrocketing the console sales so 3rd party would have stay away again and they are exactly what BigN has been missing since the Cube but arguably the 64.
They have more money than god and this year saw a profit but they need out figure out how to either break the bank again with consoles or how to exit that sector as they are doing a bad job of juggling 2 products now of which one shouldn´t exist even if i like my WiiU. Splatoon is only 35 € over here. Nice but that amiibo lockout is the worst. |

In the internet age something can be true even if it is not. Nintendo had to respond quickly since Game Stop was probably asking them after Game Stop was getting inquiries from its customers.
