Another film huh? I guess this was the big announcement then.

I'm hoping it will be better than the first.

I guess we will have to wait at least 1.5-2 years for a Funi release, given the Japanese release date is to be announced and that Funi will have to wait a while while the Japanese version gets a home video release.

Maybe they don't make this one painfully depressing?

Uhhh... if it's half as bad as the Phoenix Priestess it's still gonna be one of the worse anime movies ever so...
I'm more concerned with how the anime seems to have completely muted out its entire color palette since the beginning of this arc and now it just looks muddy and hideous

And just today I was thinking "they won't make another Fairy Tail movie, I don't think the first one did that well".

Excited for it though Very Happy

Thank you! I'm so glad I'm not the only one it's bothering. The show looks terrible, like someone's messed with the saturation and contrast on my computer.

A-1 seems in a woeful position to be taking on more work let alone a movie project, but nothing seems to convince them to stop for any length of time, not even the sheer collapse of pretty much all the shows they are running in terms of animation quality, particularly that Ultimate Otaku Teacher one.

I'm not really one to talk cause I've been slacking and haven't watched the last few eps but reading the manage, i understand why they may be choosing to go with a duller, less vibrant color pallet.

The things that are coming will make a little more sense if things look...less upbeat and more depressing

Weird phrasing. "The manga" gets an "anime film" and not "the anime gets a new film." Obviously it's been a great few years for the Fairy Tail comic; spin-off magazines, OVA bundled with volumes, Mashima drawing three chapters at once; but is the anime doing that bad it doesn't warrant a mention?

One possible way to interpret the headline is the part of the manga will be animated as a film, rather than as TV episodes.

Maybe the film will be canon?
