Well the fact that it opened with another movie that is aimed at a young audience might be something to do with the low $ made...or the fact that the olympics started on friday (less likely to effect this movie tho...). But I have never seen a movie make more money in it's second weekend than in it's first. But you never know

As I suspected this movie would make between 8-10 mil. It's unlilely that it will make over ten mil next weekend. Usually in it's second weekend of movies it makes less money. Which is why I think it will make 5 million or less next weekend. Yugioh would be lucky if it make 30 million. Twisted Evil

Wow, 9 million isn't that bad, considering a) the low budget the movie was produced under and b) how low it's expectations were. I mean, BoxOfficeMojo's expert predictitators had it pegged at the 4-5 million range, and it made twice that.

Still haven't yet decided to see it, though. Not sure if the chance to see Yugi's Grandpa's WONDERFUL, GLORIOUS EYES IN 35MM is worth a ticket price.

Not that it could possibly be any worse than Alien Vs. Predator was. Yish.

Well, its not actually that bad either. Pokemon: The First Movie only raised $31m in its opening weekend, and this was almost at the height of the Pokemon craze.

Yu-Gi-Oh recouped its production budget in one weekend, and its going to play for several more weekends, before going interenational.

The movie will break $50 million and could even break $100m in worldwide box office sales. Honestly very good for a movie made for children.

I have a fealing a lot of the people just went for the free cards rather than the movie. Were these cards really rare or something? I mean, to get adults to come up with ways of scaming a theater out of their entire lot of cards there must be *something* special about them. (Funny that WB would do a press release for such a thing, they must proud, or amused, or both...).
