Ooh interesting. I welcome this news since I've been enjoying this anime for quite a bit..

I wonder how long season 2 will be though.

Awesome news!! I was starting to get worried that the anime might get cut off abruptly. So glad that this show's getting a new season (more like a continuing long anime).

Whoo hoo! I guess the second season will be starting right after the first then. I'm glad there will be no wait between seasons.

Now someone give me a third season of Oofuri!

Oh man, we get to see just how much of an asshole the coach is. Can't wait for that rage. I'm also happy to see we get to see Sawamura work out of his slouch in the anime.

Makes me wonder how long the 2nd season is because the first season is so long lol... I thought it was a never-ending season!

I'm glad that this show'll continue, as I read that the manga has just recently ended its first half, so animating all of Half A is possible. However, the 1st season is due to end in March, and the 2nd season is due to start one month later, in April. Won't it be better to continue the existing show?

I wonder why they didn't just extend the first season?

At this point I figure it's something for business purposes, since the first season is supposedly airing episodes till the end of the month.

I couldn't believe they would actually end with the MC having the yips so I am not surprised by this news.

I'm excited to know it is getting more, this being the second time they have confirmed an extension to the series even though they are now calling it the "second season" (first time when they added two cours to the length of the "first season").

This is a continuation! The 1st season will end in the end of March and the 2nd season will start the next week, at the beginning of April.

This is a long running anime, not a seasonal. One Piece is the same thing, the company still divides the series in seasons though it never has breaks.
I assume the seasons has to do with the production and marketing of the anime. They probably plan and allocate budget for 1 season at a time and only go to the next if the anime is still in their margins of success.
In the case of One Piece it has 17 seasons right now(is running only for 15 years), the first season was 62 episodes(Ace of Diamonds is 75), it covered all of East Blue, and the 2nd just 15 episodes, from Laboon to Little Garden.

Ace of Diamond has right now 412 chapters, I believe that is the end of the first part. And so it has content for 137 episodes(3 chapters/episode), 3 years airing, or 206 episodes(2 chapters/episode), 4 years airing.
So if Production I.G. and Madhouse don't give up on the franchise, they can still go for a long time.
