#1 was TR-6
#2 was 00q
#3 was strike freedom
This was in terms of vote numbers. So they essentially made a poll and ignored it was 00q appears in the form of Transient Gundam. And now this.

That's a lot of Gundam models. I wonder how many are different versions of the same Gundam.

Personally, I prefer the Penelope over the still-fine Xi, but that's just me… ;P

As for the poll, I am bit disappointed to see Strike Freedom, and Destiny to a lesser extant, in the top ten, but not the least bit surprised either. SF looks like a gaudy MS model kit variant than a "real" in-show one and Destiny, while I appreciate its all-in-one functionality as a military weapon, feels more like a model kit mash-up (or, if I were mean, a "Franken-Gundam") more worthy of something like Gundam Build Fighers, where it felt more at home.

No shock, most the placers lean more towards the gaudy/excessive/super-complex in terms of style and design, as a good contingent of Japanese fans love that. However, I sure would not mind seeing a Gundam series with machines in the vein of Woundwort, which would be a very neat and refreshing take on what is normally seen (and likely a pain in the butt to draw, though CG mechs have gotten much better looking and seamless with 2D in the past few years).

I agree 100%, though I gotta say I love complex designs from time to time. It's just that I do not consider Strike Freedom "complex", only corny and flashy (your use of "gaudy" also applies indeed). Advance of Zeta is more down my alley, though I also enjoy simpler yet nice designs like the ones seen in Broken Blade.

I find it funny Destiny placed in the top 10 for a cameo of a show it already played a MAJOR part in.

I'm sad Infinite Justice doesn't get as much love as Strike Freedom despite the fact that they were built work in concert with each other. I generally prefer Justice/Infinite Justice in the various games.

I would think that the original Gundam that Amuro piloted would've won.
