Wow about time. I hope they can get this ready for the year or better yet for Summer or Fall. Looking forward to this for sure.

I'm not sure how it will turn out without Nakamura, but hopefully it will still do him proud.

I'm not sure who I'd trust to take over for Nakamura, but I wish them the best of luck and look forward to seeing this series finally realized.

Maybe they could get Hiroshi Hamasaki to take over. He did do Texhnolyze and is no stranger to dark, ethereal atmosphere.

Good to hear. I was afraid it was trapped in development hell if it even turns up at all regardless of the material shared since 2009.

I need to contain my excitement in order to post coherently. I thought it was a lost cause, a great tragedy....

Very glad to hear there will be another show coming from ABe and Chiaki J. Konaka - really enjoyed watching Haibane Renmei and Serial Experiments Lain last year. Should really get around to watching Technolyze though...

The premise and the art style look interesting. Working with the script supervisor of Hellsing and Lain? Yes, yes, yes.

I very much hope that this comes to be. The premise, which certainly recalls Serial Experiments Lain, and historical setting really interest me. I wasn't paying attention to anime when it was announced, so I got to discover it and be disappointed at the same time when I read about Ryutaro Nakamura's death.
I'll stick to cautious hope for now. I'm saving excitement for when we know who the new director is and have at least a year for its release. Ryutaro Nakamura had an interesting body of work and it will be hard to find somebody who is an appropriate successor. I really have no idea on that. I tend to just habitually suggest Sayo Yamamoto, but that's just because I think she should get more work. Another habitual suggestion of mine, however, that might actually be appropriate is Kyōsōgiga director Rie Matsumoto, although perhaps she's too busy with Blood Blockade Battlefront. (I wasn't paying attention when that was announced, now I'm curious about that show)

Really great news. You certainly can't replace someone like Ryutaro Nakamura, but hopefully whoever takes over will be able to do the work justice.
(Now can we please, please, please get Satoshi Kon's The Dream Machine finished and released? Somebody? )

Yeah, Hamasaki would be my pick, too. His style may not be exactly similar to Nakamura's, but it's a really good fit for ABe's and Konaka's sensibilities.

I assumed the project was dead (like Kon's Dream Machine), so this news is quite a welcome surprise.

I don't know if I should be excited or scared.
I just pray that this new director is someone competent. Nakamura's directing style is unmistakable, and it definitely wont have the same feel without him heading it.
