Until a little while i couldn't access the site when it was ''back'' but now is extremely slow for me, this doesn't happens to me on any other site.
Weird.

they have a LOT less servers to get back. Several hundred thousand users vs tens of millions on XBOX LIVE/PSN. They attacks themselves lasted a lot longer too on the console networks

Yeah I'm surprised that ANN didn't report this a lot sooner. It's been a good while since Crunchyroll got back up.

Well we don't know their motives, but Crunchyroll has apps on PSN and Xbox Live. So maybe they're treated like target, or there's another reason: maybe the hacker group hate anime (and wouldn't surprise me if they are racist against Japanese and probably Asian in general).

I've heard that Lizard Squad may be offering a "DDoS for hire" service in the future (payable by bitcoin). Imagine a future where anyone with a little bit of money and a grudge can sucker punch most web sites.

That sort of stuff happens already. At least CR is back up though. Until someone else wants to act like a douche and do it again. Which I am sure will happen sooner or later.

I got good news for anyone that are on CR, because of the DDOS hacking attack. CR is now making it up for it, please read this and I'll quote:
