So this is why I haven't been able to watch the new Majin Bone today. Good thing I was caught up on everything else already. Hope it comes back up soon.

So many children that think DDoS is hacking...should put there time into something more useful.

Soooo, Why Crunchyroll?
Unlike years ago, they're completely legit now.
They're of the anime subculture (If you want to go that far).
to my knowledge, Crunchyroll members don't tend to have any weird political leanings.
Crunchyroll usually doesn't tend to steal show licenses from Funimation or hulu.
I want to say that it isn't due to it being in the anime biz.
However crunchyroll does show up next to names like Netflix and hulu (at least in the background), so if someone wanted to make a statement against streaming without making a huge statement It could be a possible choice (for them).
Most likely though, is just a group of bored Hackers doing it "Because it's there" (maybe to get people to go to their Illegal streaming sites?).
at least its happening when the Japanese TV Seasons change, so we have the fewest shows being affected...

Well this sucks but you got to admit they picked a good time, right when most shows are on New Years break.

Why people are denying other people's access to anime? That's too cruel.

So what are they going to do about the shows they have expiring at 7am PST, 12-31-14? Or the subscribers (even the free trial ones)? Livejournal compensated when they had DDoS attacks in 2012 (I ended up with an extra month of paid time then). Has CR ever done anything like that?
6 eps to go on Beelzebub, guess I'll never find out the end...

That's what's going on. Thanks! I was wondering.
Poor CR, first their store was down for Black Friday and beyond and now this...

I can tell you that it doesn't really have a definitive ending, as in they were really hoping/expecting to have another season greenlit. which is sometimes preferable to an ending that is different from the manga. in other words, the last episode doesn't feel like an ending

I feel bad for the paid subscribers that are never going to watch any anime shows until Crunchyroll is brought back up.

It's between seasons anyways, so I was mostly going to rewatch Gintama episodes...

I can't recall ever being comped subscription time from CR but it could happen. But the expiring shows almost certainly won't since those will be stipulated by the licensing contracts...it's not a deadline they can arbitrarily extend.

Well, that's unfortunate. Now I know why people were so cranky in the forum posts. It'd still be nice to see it

@Hehaho1830
In that case, then it seems that the DDoS attack may only have a minimal impact, as long as Crunchyroll doesn't stay shut down for too long...
