It's great that not only is this new Lupin movie being picked up, but actually given an English dubbed version (though I have some worries, since most Lupin dubs are middling at best). I wonder why Funimation passed it up, though.

Hope Discotek uses Okratron5000. I would appreciate cast consistency with the TWCFM series.

Maybe Funimation didn't want to commit to the Lupin franchise long-term. Unless Jigen's Gravestone takes place before spoiler[The Secret of Mamo because of that appearance at the end] there's the possibility the movie directly leads into the upcoming 2015 Blue Jacket series.

I second using Okratron as the dubbing studio. They've done a lot of work outside of FUNimation proper, so it's totally possible. That would make it consistent with the Fujiko Mine dub cast, which would be a good idea considering that the film uses the same basic art style as that show.

Is this the movie that was done by the same team that did the Fujiko Mine series? If so, I'm totally buying it.

I'd rather hear Tony Oliver as Lupin again. Sonny Strait doesn't really get the character. And maybe they can get Richard Epcar back into the Jigen role, since Zenigata doesn't even have a role in this (just a cameo). Fujiko should be played by Michelle Ruff.

So, yeah... basically I want the Phuuz cast.

It's neat seeing companies dip into the sports anime pool. Still feels a little risky, but I support them.

Man. Discotek just keeps on killin' it. Jigen's Gravestone will be an instant purchase for me. Personally, I'm hoping the licensing of the Toei "Little Mermaid" sets a precedent, and the company does a release of the "Oz no Mahou Tsukai" series, the one with the music from Joe Hiasaishi. I've long dreamed of getting that in its original version, and not the terrible butchered version that came on HBO here. Here's hoping!

It is based on, and is a prequel to the 1991 Zeiram live-action movie.

Actually that doesn't work because in the movie Iria expresses no particular feelings toward Zeiram while in the OVA she gains an intense vendetta against it.[/nerdnerdnerdnerdnerd]

The movie's kind of balls, anyway. Always liked the OVA but I have that tin that Media Blasters put out a while ago.

Same here. I was surprised to see them license it. Hopefully that means that Yowamushi Pedal Grande Road will also get licensed soon.

I've always had a soft spot for Iria so I love that it's being rescued.

Did Media Blasters redub Iria? Otherwise, it's probably the old CPM dub.

The first anime I ever saw, back on the original Sci-Fi Channel's Saturday Night Anime. Still a favorite. Good to see it's still getting some love.
