Looks like the war is over, Gantz is ADV's now.
This was probably covered in the other thread, but I haven't been around for a while, so excuse my redundancy. |

I guess the news about Erementar Gerad was true afterall.
I made a thread about it a couple months ago and it was about a website claiming that Erementar was going to be licensed soon. It said: Erementar Gerad is scheduled to have a huge movie, animated series, and toy line coming out in the U.S. in 2005. What I don't understand, is how they knew it was going to be licensed. However, they didn't specify if it was going to be ADV or not. Anyway, i'm excited about this news as I love Gerad. :) |

This has sort of been known for months actually. ADV and Comic Blade, the publishers of the Gerad manga, have some sort of partnership going. ADV is helping fund Comic Blade titles turn anime, so they sort of have the rights automatically. ADV was pretty much announced as the licnese holder as soon as the Tactics anime was announced, and the same went with the new Gerad anime. |

Umm, about Maburaho, didn't they announce that awhile ago?
One of my old issues of Newtype with a Maburaho article even states it was liscensed by them, so I'm not sure that one actually constitutes a new liscense or not. I just wanted to point that out. Only three of those that interest me are Maburaho, Nanaka 6/17 and Yumeria, all of which I have already seen. If they get good dubs, I will pick them up. |

i have a nooby question: what happens if two or more company compete the license over one anime? it is like a auction, right? the company who gives more money wins the copy right?
