Inversely, his responses seemed really disconnected to me. Like he randomly googled Sailor Moon and came up with those vague, not quite correct answers while quickly scanning through search results.

Honestly, I don't really care if Shatner actually has watched Sailor Moon or if he just googled this stuff (which is probably what happened). It's still cool that he's interested at all, and to see two shows I like collide. Very Happy It's the spirit of the thing.

Also, it's fun just to show up some persnickety people who are overly invested in squabbling over the relative heights of Sailor Senshi, for some reason. I'm sure years of Star Trek conventions have given him way too much experience with that type of person, lol.

And y'knows what's even scarier?
Fans correcting Shatner on the difference between "Moon Prism Power (Makeup)!" and the Wonder Twins... Shocked

(Unless he was deliberately trolling us at that point, which is also the third likely possibility, behind "Twitter fakie")

Wow I never knew William Shatner just dived into the world of anime & manga. I wonder if Shatner knows of Space battleship Yamato/Star Blazers.

The Enterprise's sister ship is the USS Yamato (named for the real life ship, not the anime), so I'm sure he's heard a lot of people ask if the Yamato was named for the anime.

William Shatner is also a grandfather, he may have picked it up from his grand kids.

It's definitely him he has talked about his Twitter on interviews. Anyways he is very aware of pop culture.

Keep in mind he attends a lot of cons and sees what is popular. As someone else mentioned he also has grandkids who probably keep him in the loop. He obviously makes an effort to keep updated on popular fandoms.

I think my favorite Shatner nerd moment is when he tweeted about being harassed by some guy at a con and when you opened the picture it was John Barrowman.

Anyways defintely one of my favorite celebrity accounts.

Well, the USS Yamato was one of the sister ships of the Enterprise-D from Next Generation. None of the original Constitution-class ships that were sister ships to the Enterprise was named Yamato. Not that fans haven't asked him a million times, though anyway Very Happy .

Just the idea of Shatner + Sailor Senshi is pretty hilarious. Imagine Shatner saying "In the name...of the moon, I...will punish...you!" as only Shatner could!
