Now when I think of the name "Kaguya", I think of spoiler[that psychotic Naruto villain that I wish Naruto defeat with the intent to kill].

I'll wait until Princess Kaguya comes out in general release before catching it on the big screen. Why pay $24 to see it in September when I can see it for $14 in October (or even $7.19 if it is playing on a Tuesday night)?

I will catch the Ghibli doc since it's unlikely to get a big screen release and World of Kanako because it sounds really nasty.

I would love to be in your position right now. When will Takahata-san ever make another appearance in this part of the world? Heck, when will anybody big from Ghibli make another appearance? If I had the foresight to acquire this, I would have flown there without question.

Seriously, you have Mamoru Oshii and Isao Takahata in your city. Meanwhile, NYCC continues to give me the shaft.

I may have considered going to the screening that Takahata will be attending, but it is playing during work hours. I did take advantage of seeing Oshii back in July when he was in Toronto as part of a Q&A session, as well as for introducing screenings of GitS and The Sky Crawlers. Oshii was in Canada (Montreal specifically) doing post on his latest feature (which is live-action/animated). He showed a clip from it during the Q&A and it looks cool but I'm not a huge fan of his live-action stuff.

Colonel: Well, he was in L.A. 10 years ago, so it's not like he travels outside of Japan infrequently.

Is Oshii going to be at TIFF? The site lists the interview as having occurred last month.
