Woah that's something. It's both amazing but honestly also frightens me. Especially the one called Telenoid! But that's amazing if I was walking pass a television with them on it I would surely think they are humans!

The age of the singularity is slowly approaching, an android newscaster is fine (a bit creepy at first though) but hopefully Japan and the rest of the world who's interested know not to cross the line by having AI, android, and robot controlled military systems and other vital functions like the water supply.

So, I guess I'M the only anime geezer who'll make the Android Maico jokes?
Did Ishiguro work on the more fluid human-movement Actroids that had been coming out of KokoroCo a few years ago? Think they joined forces on the current models. His early work tended to spend too much time focusing on the interaction (turning to face the speaker, putting hands up to receive something), which isn't as necessary for TV anchors. (But at least Hatsune Miku was the Jackie Robinson who opened the career door for artificial entertainers!) Last edited by EricJ2 on Wed Jun 25, 2014 10:14 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Eh, still prefer the classic, remember this way back in Y2K?

Certainly creepy at this stage, but can't say I'd turn down my own persocom in the future.

Then there is the original Naked News (definitely NSFW). I thought they had gone out of existence, but they simply switched over to a membership site. Unlike the Russian lady, there are no strategically located items to block the view. |

That is definitely approaching the uncanny valley. It's terrifying.
