At the pace the show is going, it was clear that it would need 48-52 episodes to cover the entire Stardust Crusaders phase of the manga, but I'm surprised that there won't be a 3 or 6-month break between the two halves.

I thought it was only going to be 24 episodes, but I'm glad its longer. I've been enjoying this show waaay too much. But, I guess it will be quite a while before we get the 4th part in anime form...

So glad JJBA is getting the treatment it deserves. If ratings do well we might even get future parts.

Is Part 3 really that much longer than Part 1 and Part 2 combined...? Or is it mainly the pacing?

Not sure how it can be stretched out for one whole year, when the storyline's probably about six months' worth of content, max. That's gotta demand a ton of filler.

Thanks! If this is the case, then I guess I'm actually glad about this. It'll take a while, but it'll hopefully make the time investment worthy.

I have read the manga just barely past the first two parts, but I didn't really notice the change in pacing. Which parts in the anime were that compressed compared to the manga?

Wow, this is great news. When was the last time a late night anime ran for a whole year (barring Hunter x Hunter when the October comes since that originally had a morning timeslot)?
I wonder if that means future seasons will also be a year long then.
