I'm a little bit disappointed to see Misa on there but not Nagi Sanzenin from Hayate no Gotoku.

Maybe it's just me but I am really surprised a large portion of people thought Inuyasha was better than Ranma ½. I always thought Ranma ½ was superior to Inuyasha in terms of plot and characters. But maybe that's just me...

Wouldn't the twins technically make the list 8?
I'd add Satellizer. From her the "Personality" section of her Freezing Wiki article:
Quote: |
When first introduced, Satellizer was deemed as cold, mean, and ruthless. After her first meeting with Kazuya Aoi, she becomes concerned over Kazuya's safety and begins to recognise others as her comrades and friends, whom she cares deeply cares for, which is shown when Satellizer relinquished all control and turned herself into a Nova Form Pandora when she saw Ganessa Roland "die" before her eyes.
Throughout the series, she is shown to have a much more shy side, in sharp contrast to her latter cold nature. Her softer side dawns primarily whenever she is around Kazuya, easily noticeable by her furious blushing when around him as she holds strong feelings for Kazuya, although she had never admitted it. However, through her rivalry with Rana Linchen over Kazuya, she is shown to get jealous whenever she sees Rana try to get intimate with Kazuya. When Kazuya snaps at her to stay a way from him for a time, she becomes intensely depressed and withdraw, constantly asking how much time is enough and if enough time has passed.
Known as the Untouchable Queen because of her intense aphephobia (fear of being touched), she is feared by most of the student body for her cold and ruthless personality. Her phobia was developed from her past of being molested by her half-brother Louis. However, her aphephobia became less intense though after her meeting with Kazuya. She also has a strong incentive to never lose because of her not wanting to have to depend on others like her mother had to.
It is revealed during the Siblings Arc that she shows a much more timid and submissive personality when around her brother Louis because of their past. But due to Kazuya's inspiring words during the clash between her and Holly, she received the confidence to stand up to Louis (and in the process, cure her aphephobia). |
Along with Satellizer, Caitlin Glass was also (her most famous role) another not-so ditzy blonde, FMA's Winry.

I kept expecting to see Winry Rockbell from Full Metal Alchemist (come to think of it, Riza Hawkeye probably belongs on the list, too).

Both good choices, while I would've also added Saber from Fate/Stay Night.
As for favorite blue-haired character not on the new list, I would say Sasami/Tsunami from Tenchi Muyo are missing as an option.

I think it might be primarily because InuYasha was more easily available to watch (especially with all the reruns) and was a lot of 2000 folks' gateway anime.
For the poll, I definitely vote Mercury as my favorite blue-haired lady of anime. She's the first blue-haired character I ever saw since my introduction to anime.

Slutizer is a fetish doll meant to be masturbated to by Horny Otaku. She is also one of primary examples of a cliche Shoujo Sympathy Sue. Hell the Failzing wiki looks like it was written by fanfic writers and twelve year olds.
That entire arc of NTR and Rape fan service was dedicated to how author thinks how cool his Gary Stu of the arc is by making him suddenly become a "good person all along".
Kim Dal Young skills at writing is below Stephenie Meyer's. So none of his characters deserve to be on lists with good characters. Except to show how terrible they are.

I've been re-reading Monster, so I expected Nina and/or Johan on the list.

It also missed Yuri from Dirty Pair, another series I'm currently watching.

Also: Ritsuko Akagi from Evangelion.
I loved the inclusion of Alicia from Aria, though I think she wears a moderately ditzy persona while quietly keeping Aria Company (and later, the Neo-Venezia Gondola Association) going.

It seems to me that this list is girls who appear to be ditzy but really aren't, rather than blondes who aren't ditzy at all. Otherwise there's no explanation for Balalaika to be missing from the list (among many, many others). So from that point of view, it's a very good list, harder to compile than it would seem.
That said, Winry still belongs, because she does have her ditzy moments, despite being generally capable.
And I know it says "blondes," but I have to add Apollon from Kagami no Asobi to the list of ditzy blonds.
I don't know what to think about the poll. Kaname's hair looks green to me, and I can't say I really like her or Ayanami Rei. But I don't really know any of the rest of them. I know I've seen dozens of blue haired girls though, but they're not on the list and I can't think of any of them off the top of my head anyway.

I would think Patty from Soul Eater would actually be considered kind of ditzy. Liz definitely isn't, but Patty really is. Just remember the test-taking episode.
Also surprised Saber isn't on here.

I was hoping to see Inez Fressange from the Nadesico series make it into this list, but no such luck.
Somewhat more surprising is the absence of Rin Minmei (Macross), Shampoo (Ranma 1/2) and Yurika Misumaru (Nadesico) in the blue-haired-character poll, especially considering characters from rather more obscure anime like Venus Versus Virus, Needless and Divergence Eve did manage to make it in. I would also have liked to see Mint Blancmanche (Galaxy Angel) and/or Umi Ryuuzaki (Rayearth) on the poll, though i could see those being considered lower priority. Also, isn't Akane Tendo's hair-colour black?

So... where's Hildegard von Mariendorf from "Legend of the Galactic Heroes"?

I'd add Sateliizer as well. Excellent character in so many ways, your quote of her personality just a smidgen of why I'd include her.
Can't comment of half the list as I haven't seen them but the half I have seen I thoroughly agree with their inclusions.
As for the poll, only Wendy get's my vote, her exploits in the current arc only elevates her even more.

I'll vote for Rei, at least for Mogudan's wonderful interpretation of her.
