Its surprsing that the only series on the list that hasn't had a TV anime adaptation in the last 3 years is Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index. That's some mighty impressive staying power...even though its sales are slowly but steadily declining. If each novel manages to sell at least 150K, its on track.
EDIT: While I'm here I might as well post this video link. Think of it as a trailer to the entire Toaru Majutsu no Index LNs collection: YouTube Video Also why is NGNL listed under two different publishers? Adding them together would push it into 6th place. I want more IS dunno how it leaves off haven't quite caught up yet. Having fun translating the short stories that my BD volumes 1 and 3 came with. Really silly read I can see why the first TV anime sold so well years back. Great read/watch excellent way to escape and forget about your worries.

Always sad to see SAO overshadowing Accel World. I personally think Accel World is the much better series.

Somewhat surprising to see Hidan no Aria being this popular.

I find it odd that both DxD and IS are not on this list, but I guess this list takes into account all sales over the period and IS has only had one light novel in the last year or two, and DxD also had only one release in the time frame.

The real surprise for me is to see Log Horizon in the ranking and quite high as well, which is a good thing but a bit surprising cause as far as i know it never ranked in the weekly top LN sales charts, i guess the sales must have been slow but consistent and steady, now it makes sense why a second season was approved so quickly.
Looks Like The Sales For No Game No life have risen sharply enough to make it already in top LN sales, Good very good, chances of a second season look already promising. Sword Art Online still dominating the LN market altough it fell too the irregular at magic high school but with the new season coming out in Summer i think its safe to bet who will be number 1 at the end of the year ranking. Also happy to see Black Bullet in the ranking too, The Anime adaptation is ok but it didn't do the series justice, it skipped and rushed quite a lot of material. |

That really isn't that much of a victory, it's only a difference of 58,736. It just means that thanks to the anime a lot of people bought up a bunch of IAMHS volumes from the entire series. But in that same time frame SAO still had the number 2 and 3 best selling individual volumes while IAMHS's best selling volume ranked 8. Individual volume sales are always more impressive, especially when the title doesn't have an anime currently airing. Emerje |

I don't think so just based on those sales...I mean Hataraku Maou-sama did amazing in sale last year but there's still been no second season of that announced. (For reference it was around the same sales as Yahari) Plus for NGNL we still don't have the blu-ray sales, which are also pretty important in terms of a second series. But at the end of the day there are a lot more variables that we don't know exactly, things that studio's will take into account when deciding when to do another season. There are many popular series which didn't get a S2 after all, I mean look at DRRR that only just had one announced. It'd be more accurate to say that NGNL could have another season now...but I wouldn't say it's anywhere near a sure thing yet based. Bare in mind on the flip side there are series that sold poorly yet get a S2, it depends on what the studio wants to do. |

Ok il change it to say that at this point there is a possibility that t could have a second season. Also from the sources i have read the blu ray volume sale estimates are so far doing well with the pre-orders are estimated around 5K right now so the possibility of it continuing are rising but as you said it depends on a lot of variables. Well if u looks at this way The Increase in LN sales+ The good Blu ray sale estimates and the fact the series seems like it will end on a cliff hanger, all these factors combined all show increasing evidence that potential future sequel might be possible |
