Kruszer not optimistic about ever buying Yen Press titles from them then.
This infantile tantrum Amazon is having with them is getting old. |

From reading the article, the situation looks grim for Hachette.

Amazons actions are that of a playground bully.
Forget it, in sticking to rightstuff for anime & manga from now on, and Barnes & noble & my LCS for graphic novels. |

I buy manga from TRSI, so this doesn't affect me there. However, someone I know did recently post a link to this nice little article warning against choosing sides so early. I found it quite interesting, particularly because others we chomping down on Amazon for this. At least prevented me from making a quick decision; while I don't necessarily trust Amazon, Hachette could also share some blame.

I came across the same article after it was tweeted by an actor I follow. Very interesting read. I had forgotten that Yen Press was a Hachette imprint. I got Triage X v6 just this past Tuesday all fine, but I just noticed that Amazon isn't taking pre-orders anymore for Triage X v7 and Inu x Boku SS v5, which I already pre-ordered back in February. Wonder if those pre-orders will ship or if I need to look to B&N or TRSI for my Yen Press printings. |

The apostrophe in the link makes it not work Here's the link to the story. A good read. https://davidgaughran.wordpress.com/2014/05/26/amazon-v-hachette-dont-believe-the-spin/ |

For some reason, they both seem to work for me. How about this? |

Considering that many of my favorite authors, whom I respect and admire (outside of their writing talent) are speaking out against Amazon and siding with Hachette (whether they're one of their authors or not), I'm siding with Hachette as well.
Especially reading what Amazon wrote on their website, which was full of lies claiming that Hachette was cutting off their stock, and that they had to delay books and couldn't take pre-orders because Hachette wasn't sending them enough, and they weren't sure how many they'd get. |

Doesn't seem to work, gives a "page not found" message. But I noticed that the url in the links were missing something(although nothing seems to fix it). Since it's not working. Basically anyone that wants to read it, click on one of the links and go back to the site's main page. The story should be the first one you see. If that story is somewhat true, this is just going to happen with the other 4 publishers down the road that got caught in Apple's ebook price fixing case. It just happens that Hachette is the 1st one up. |

I'm a Prime member and I've let Amazon know the tactics they are using to negotiate with Hatchette aren't covering them with glory. Hatchette gets their share of blame here too.
I just wish these little brats would stop fighting, oh and "Get off my lawn!!!" Mark Gosdin |

What I find funny is
So, it's unfortunate that they're trying to fix this? LOL. I don't know if whether Amazon or Hachette is in the wrong on this (possibly both), as they haven't publicly announced exactly what the dispute is, but given Amazon's current situation with e-books, I'm inclined to believe that the problem probably stems from Amazon being too monopolistic with regards to e-books and thus trying to leverage that to put the publishers in a bad position. They've certainly done that before. But whether that's what's happening here or not, I think that the current book situation - especially the e-book situation, but physical books as well - is not that great. We need more competition in that space. Unfortunately though, not enough people buy books these days, and too many of us buy them from Amazon, which strengthens their position and makes it hard for competition to survive. Fortunately, there's still enough competition that we can all get our books from Hachette in spite of what Amazon is up to, but Amazon probably normally represents a large portion of Hachette's sales, which isn't really a good thing for either consumers or Hachette. Amazon is great in a lot of ways, but they represent much too large a portion of the sales in the book market. |

Well, you're right, the apostrophe makes it not work, but you didn't remove the apostrophe. It appears that ANN's forum software keeps putting an apostrophe in, which seems a bit odd to me. From the linked blog:
So basically Hachette is one of the companies whom the courts found guilty of illegally jacking up e-book prices, now Amazon and Hachette are in the middle of the court-ordered renegotiation process. Probably both sides are playing hardball, but Hachette seems to be doing a better job of it, since public opinion is against Amazon. |
