I know, Akari told me.

Seriously though, it's nice to see that Nintendo responded quickly.

I agree, people are over reacting to corporate decisions and need to calm down.

It wasn't in the Japanese one, it's not like they would change it specially just for the US. Lol. We don't get catered to. Sorry.

If you're disgusted because nintendo was too lazy to put it in, then a whole lot of people must disgust you.

Sigh find it quite annoying that I can foresee so many people complaining when any game that involve any aspect of dating must have all the sexualities...

Jesus Christ, it's ridiculous that things have gotten to this point. I don't care if Nintendo does or doesn't include same sex relationships in their games, but part of me wishes they don't just to cheese off some of the people that are investing way to much into this.

I had hoped that after people in the LGBT community cried about the Naoto "issue" in Persona 4 we could all get together and pressure companies only when there was clearly an issue. But no I forgot this is the gaming community.

I know, right? Laughing It would be one thing if this was just your standard controversy like [Samus in high heels] that people make a big deal over on Kotaku then it fades after a week. But then when you got actual real news sources Time and CNN spinning the story to call Nintendo a radical hate group it's pretty surreal. Sad thing is the guy who started the campaign was pretty level headed about the whole thing, it wasn't until the usual people got ahold of the the story that it spun out of control.

No offense to anyone, but this is BS. I'm sick of people, ANY people, bitching about being "excluded". It's not your right to be included in the first place, and Nintendo shouldn't be expected to be the bastion of PC. I don't care what minority anyone is in, I will respect it. But nowadays, many of those minorities seem to be suffering from a sever case of victim syndrome. No, a game not having a homosexual option does not mean the makers of the games are homophobic. They MAY be homophobic, that's true, but the more common reason will always be that they didn't think the work needed to add homosexual themes might not be worth it, considering the percent of purchases they might bring.

tl;dr: Being represented in a video game is not a right.

And another thing: I'm sick of people saying "well, if I'm not represented in a game, I can't immerse myself in the characters". That's garde A BS. I'm a white man. That would mean that I couldn't play Tomb Raider, any of the Metroid games, Prototype 2, etc.. because the MCs are not white men. That means I should hate Xena, warrior princess, and all Will Smith movies.

Yeah, it's not like Nintendo caters to the US by translating all the text into English or anything.

A lot of the people who are upset about this have already decided they're not going to buy the next Nintendo console. Given their recent financial results — losing nearly half a billion dollars last year — they can ill afford to piss anyone off.

The priorities in our everyday lives do not include tomodachi life. This is click bait. Bad ANN. Bad.

That's why I worried after the last thread got locked, this one could start all over again. ANN shouldn't have published this IMO.

You are right and I agree 100%. Catering to 100% of the people is impossible and right or necessity. Not every game has to have people from all races, genders, background, and all that sh*t to be good.
I don't think I played a single game that has a character that has a similar background as me, yet I game constantly. This whole gay marriage thing in Tomodachi life is just Bs.

I don't care if they add same sex marriage in this game or the next I actually never cared for this game. But I don't want to see Zelda or Nintendo's other franchises watered down to 'reach wider audiences.'
