I missed the first episode of XY, but it's no problem in my case, since I'm planning on watching this season of Pokemon over on the Internet, anyway. I'm bound to enjoy XY with Serena, Bonnie, and Clemont in the spotlight. Smile

I believe Pokemon still has high/good ratings on Cartoon Network, so still strong on that format. Which makes it easier to tie in certain stuff to the games, like story arcs. All relevant for Nintendo and CN.

Relevant to what?

Relevant in what way?

I am way, way behind on Pokemon.
I own, and have watched, the Indigo League and Orange Islands episodes and the four movies that Miramax keeps releasing over and over and over. I also watched both of the Black and White movies and several random episodes that I was able to borrow from the library. Those "Pokemon Elements" discs are kind of nice, though they would be redundant for anybody who is keeping up with the show.

I am definitely not in the target demographic for any part of the franchise and I have no interest at all in the games or any of the merchandise, but I have really enjoyed what I have seen of the show.
I think of it as just good clean fun.

It is nice to know that the anime is still alive and well in Japan and, possibly, in the US.
I hope to get around to watching more of it.

We talking the anime or the games? I say both are equally relevant. The anime introduces most of the 90's kids and teens, and keeps introducing new generations. Then they get the games, like them, and they care to see how Ash interacts with the new region from the game in the anime

If this is the new opening then I might find myself watching the anime again. (Even though I'm a couple of months away from being 18), I just pray to God that the voice acting this season is better, and that this is the opening. It would be a great way for little kids to get introduced to Pokemon. With a more modern version of the classic we all know and love! Very Happy
