That sketch looks more like an American take on manga than manga. The superhero angle seems to be an trend developing in Japan.

Could be due to the recent slew of Marvel superhero movies. Thor, Ironman, and the Avengers movies are very popular in Asia.

That sounds like a good possibility.

Sounds promising and I liked Vampire Bund and his art in it so hopefully this is good too.

Somehow don't think the mother will succeed since daughters are fair game in Japan. Wink

If you mean the character design, that's Tamaki's usual art, as can also be seen in Vampire Bund.

That's an interesting perspective. Essentially the "fallible heroics" seems to be the Japanese take on the superhero genre as not-so-super heroes, or even anti-heroes (Zetman, Sacred Seven)

Wasn't Tamaki already starting on Dance on the Vampire Bund 2nd Season manga?

Yes the Dance in the Vampire Bund: The Memories of Sledge Hammer series also being released in the U.S. by Seven Seas. Volume 1 is out, vol 2 is due in March. It does not disappoint, so far nicely done.

Some authors and artists work on multiple series at one time. They must have insane schedules.

Man he's doing another one. Why the hell when I look at this image I think of Wonder Woman. This will be interesting to see.

And what's up with that title "Hard Nerd Daddy". Oh man the names he comes up with, but he loves his sexy ladies and androgynous males.

This has a really great concept, and as a fan of American superhero comics, I approve.

As long as it doesn't have loli artwork, because as much as I liked the concept and dark nature of Vampire Bund, the fanservice is explicit and hard to get over. I started it via the library where I was living at the time, but I think that library system stopped purchasing the manga, and if I had to guess why, well, loli doesn't go over well. I haven't found another library system that carries it, and I'd feel a little uncomfortable owning it myself.

This new story sounds perfect for American libraries, as long as super heroine daughter looks like a teenager on the covers.

I'd also love to read his Daddy manga. Baby stories are a real weakness of mine.
