Great job Naruto in putting that upstart Attack on Titan in its place.

Hell no. Naruto sucks as of late. I'm glad a great series like Titan is almost beating it out.

One's success doesn't hurt the other. So, instead of attacking one show in favor of the other, we should celebrate the fact that manga has the top spots in an American chart. Naruto deserves its first place just as much as Attack on Titan would if it got first. Naruto is ending while AoT is the next big thing in manga/anime. Once Naruto is gone, watch out for AoT I'd say. That series is overwhelmingly amazing.

The ICv2 website noted that there was a large difference in sales for Attack on Titan between bookstores and comic book stores. ICv2 noted that while the series has ranked on Nielsen's top 20 chart throughout the summer, in June volume 5 in the series sold only 330 copies in comic book stores to rank at #297. No volumes in the series ranked in the top 300 in comic book stores in July.

This is interesting. It makes me happy that Americans are actually walking into bookstores. It also might reflect the fact that female readers might dislike going into comic shops for *ahem* whatever reason.

Not when Borders is gone, and B&N is also heading to oblivion. For bookstores, it's not the ranking that matters - it's the actual sales numbers.

They can't handle the intimacy of a small shop but prefer the impersonal anonymity of a large retail chain. Very Happy

More like males trying to challenge them on being a "real" geek or not.

Pssh! Males do that to each other all the time. If they're halfway decent, they'd brush off such silly challenges handily. Not such an incredible barrier. Cool

Well goodie for all your guy friends. Keep on doing the same old, same old.

Personally, I've never had a problem in these places. I've heard complaints from other women, who have had bad experiences in comic shops. They don't want to shop in those places, and that's just the reality of it, like it or not.

Bleach and One Piece are better than both of them, right now. Why aren't they above Naruto and AOT.

When it comes down to it, It's not like the American manga market is relevant in comparison to other countries with massive manga success (Japan being at the very top).

Alright, way to go Alice fans! The Clockmaker's Story ranking in at #11 is awesome, and great news all-around.

(Happy to see AoT inching closer and closer to the top)
