So an easier was to say it would be to say Funimation will completely change now that their is a new CEO.

They hired a new COO, not a new CEO. Gen Fukunaga is still the CEO.

Ok thanks that makes more sense but still his responsibilities are almost everything.

It still makes me nervous to hear this news. Silly, I know; but thus far my impression with American movie execs is that they feel they need to restructure the Japanese product rather than let the original story speak for itself. I would be happy to be considered paranoid, and even happier to be dead wrong. Still...we shall see...

The important thing is that they don't have any creative control over the initial product.

No more pointless ecchi shows from Funimation now? This makes me sad as I do love Sekirei and Freezing.

I hope that doesn't mean they'll stop getting ecchi and harem anime. We could use some of those every once in a while.

That's what I was thinking as I read his statement too
It would indeed be sad, though I'm sure someone else would take their place. Sentai... or a smaller player if no one licenses these shows after a while.
However, I think it's just PR. It's not like he can come out and say "Boobies FTW!"

This doesn't sound good at all and I don't like this guys background already. I love my absurd, senseless Ecchi! <3

It still shows up fine for me as www.funimation.com.
Perhaps you've stumbled across a subdomain they are going to use for live testing.

I kinda have mixed feelings on this. On one hand, it's a friggin' movie exec. On the other hand, the fact that he plans to oversee broadcast rights and his expertise in the industry make me a little hopeful in seeing more FUNi anime outside of FUNimation Channel and Toonami (DBZ Kai already airs on Vortexx, even if it is heavily edited, so Saban may be the first to try and make an offer).

FUNimation already does that, so I wouldn't be too worried. Lest this new feller suggests removing the original audio tracks from home videos or something...

Seems this move is for this guy's industry connections, so that Funimation can get their foot into more ways to distribute their products.
