@Jedi Master: It looks like for now you can only get it on DLSite(at least the English version). On the plus side, they let you download things as much as you want and it's DRMless.

@neocloud9: Unless you've got a truly ancient computer, maintaining a Windows VM good enough to play VNs with isn't difficult. You don't even have to let it ever face the internet.

I have a 2011 MacBook Pro, running OS X Lion... I don't know what a Windows VM is, could you explain? I do have a few VNs on this computer already, but they were all specified as Mac-compatible to begin with.

It you want to try and run vn's on a mac I highly recommend using this software. Read in the forums how to set up the virtual hdd to install and you should be able run .exe programs fine.

That's good to hear! I don't purchase things with DRM. One time, I accidentally purchased a DRMed comic from DLSite and it was a horrible experience. It didn't work at all, they wouldn't give me a refund, and they deleted my thread about it on their Help forums (I don't think they have a forum anymore).

Gonna have to be a LITTLE more specific than that.

seabiscuit.0 here
^
Meaning it's fine, I was one of the first 5 people to download it. Their are minor grammar issues and it can be a little stiff however it's not common, and it is a solid translation which is more then can be said for a lot of releases. However the publisher did tell me that they are working on a improved translation that they will patch.

I am importing the japanese physical release of episode 1 and selling it with a download of the official release, and a editable patch of the official release on amazon.

Also it turns out there is a Chinese version as well.

Here is a rough translation of the opening btw
orenji-iro no sora no mukou wa
beyond the orange sky
ugoki o tomenai tokeijikake de
it moves like clockwork
akasanai kotoba wa getsumen no naka o mawatte
concealed words circle the surface of the moon
kieyuku hitotsu no shoumei
a single disappearing light

zero-kyori de kanjinai koto demo
even if i can't feel it at point-blank range
jouhou wa genjitsu ni naru
information becomes reality

ginga no saki ni aru masshiro na hoshizora o
I see the pure white sky of stars beyond the galaxy
tsuki no naka no yume ni miru
in the dream on the moon

todokanai kanjou o genshidokei ni awasete
I time unreaching emotions to the atomic clock
michi o kizamu sekai ni
to the world that ticks forward

VM = virtual machine; it's like having multiple computers in one. I personally use XP inside VirtualBox(you can use the shared folders feature to bring material into the VM, thus allowing you to avoid getting too many viruses on your computer). Wine might work for some games, but in my experience it's not very good at handling Japanese visual novels(eg, Higurashi ends up with a large number of visual trash in the text area).
