Not very surprising since it's a very good song. It's one of the few opening songs that I watch every time.

This doesn't surprise me.
Not because the song is good, because it's not; it's rather mediocre, IMO. But because of the popularity of the anime. If not for the anime, no one would care.

I think this is one of the best opening (or ending) songs in the last few years. I often find myself whistling it in the shower.
Whether I watch an OP or ED more than once depends entirely on the song. I watch this OP every time.

I don't think so. The song didn't spawn hundreds of Youtube parody videos just because it happened to be the opening for Attack on Titan. I wouldn't call it a great song, but it certainly has a lot more to it when it generated that kind of popularity.

I don't consider it legendary good, but the song coupled with the dynamic video make the op an exciting watch/listen.

While the song is not that great, the fact its the opening with to Attack on Titan along with opening animation makes it seem epic.

i'm surprised because most popular karaoke songs are kind of old or very easy to learn because most people pick the songs that they can sing. Maybe this song is easy to learn?
You guys must not going to many karaoke or not Asians. Karaoke is not about good/great songs. It's about what's popular and what you can sing.

I might be biased as a Linked/Sound Horizon fan, but I just adore Guren no Yumiya; it's easily my favorite OP theme this season! Listening to it (or even just thinking about it) never fails to make me wanna jump up and battle some giant evil dudes! Plus, it's pretty easy to sing, which is why I guess it's become so popular at karaoke. Yay!

I agree. While it's undeniable that the popularity of the anime did contribute to the popularity of the OP, that's not the only reason.
Most of the parody videos found on Youtube originated on niconico, and some of them have reached more than 1 million views there. At one point, I watched so many of these Guren no Yumiya parody videos that my recommendation page was full of the same types of videos

One OP fitting of the atmosphere of the anime, no wonder it's popular

It's funny because the beginning part shows on the screen text along the lines of, "Sorry we don't have the lyrics for this part."
