Yep, read about this on another gaming site. First time I've seen a Final Fantasy getting a HD makeover (probably without a voice-over and keeping thing close to it's original incarnation) and not release on console (although FF8 PS1 classics is on PSN stores for people to buy).

I hope they do this for all the PSX FFs. I'd love to replay them without looking like crap on my HDTV.

Inform the Spoony One at once!

Still nice to see PC gamers getting RPG's.

Great! Now the only classic FF games needing to be rereleased are FF9 and FF12.

They call it "HD remaster"? FFVII looked terrible and was identical to the old PC version. There was no "remastering" - only built-in trainer that is, by the way, ridiculous. I bet FFVIII will look as bad and will have the same useless "special features". It's better to take your PS1 version and run it using emulator. A lot of filtering options and other stuff will make it look good in HD.

I haven't seen any screen shots for FFVII, or seen any official statements, but the article says high resolution. Which is different from high definition.

I wonder if it will have a Pocket Station USB attachment for you computer? On a serious note I did not see a date set for the release.

Ahh the memories of junction and GFs, I will be very excited to replay this Smile

The original FFVIII PC included Chocobo World as a separate application, so they'll probably do the same thing with this release.

I bought the PC version when it originally came out and I never got a "Pocket Station USB" thing, just the seperate app/game of Chocobo World.

I imported a Pocketstation(which I still have) and used it on my PS1. Personally I'd rather have FF9 than the 7,8, and 10 they are pulling...

I'm one of the few who loved 8 it seems, but I have yet to see anything that'll make this "HD" thing appeal to me when I still own the original as well as the original PC release.

I'd love to see them do something with 9 since that's my all time favorite FF, but I don't want to just see an HD remaster.
