Totally agree, I know a lot of people were speculating a 3rd season. I do think they wrapped up a lot of questions in the end of season 2 though.
I was still hoping for a rescue the Center Nova's season, but given the explanation of why the Center Nova's vanished, I guess that's kind of not going to happen.

Sounds kind of odd they would disband the group after making a number 2 single.
I didn't care for the story of show, but I must say it was still incredibly entertaining. Next Stage was possibly my favorite show of last season, which might not sound like much given the quality of many other shows. Still, miles better than I expected for some tie-in with a pop idol group! That said, I'm satisfied if we only get two seasons.

I would have liked an OVA or something for the anime, for one or two questions left unanswered.
And I kinda would've liked a third single or an EP or something, I have Kibou ni Tsuite and Type-B and D of Kono Namida wo Kimi ni Sasagu, but I would certainly have bought another single or an EP/Album.
Granted they haven't ruled out extra Voice Acting jobs with the group or new songs, just no performances or events in the near future. So those hopes aren't completely shattered.

At least two members are pursuing voice acting career now, and one (Sonata's VA) is leaving the entertainment industry. So it's sort of expected.

This is quite unfortunate. Was really hoping for a continuation to resolve the numerous plot holes season 2 left us with.

This is very unfortunate indeed, but not really unexpected either, yeah... with two members already graduated and another graduating next month, it would be kinda hard to continue it >__<.

I thought the same. Specially when such a "light" anime takes that a turn; someone would think that everybody forgot this cold blooded death.

It is odd though. Some have graduated from the real AKB48 with the hopes of becoming seiyuu. Couldn't they still be seiyuu in AKB0048 THE ANIME??? Boggles the mind... but perhaps there is something contractual about only real, current AKB48 singers being in AKB0048?
Shame. Had some bad CG dancing but otherwise some really good episodes in both seasons, especially the finales. I guess it had a great ending at least, even if some questions remained unanswered.

IIRC not all of the AKB characters in the show were played by actual AKB girls, I think everyone outside of the No Name group was a regular seiyuu so that at least wouldn't have been a problem.

The story seemed wrapped up enough for me that I don't NEED it to continue. It would nice though.

Aww, well now I know not to get my hopes up for season 3 at least. I really liked their songs too though, shame to see the group disband.

After all, the show is first and foremost an advertisement for AKB, so without that interest, there's no show.
