The notes at the back are pretty clear that the process of writing and drawing Negima is fairly colaborative not just on the production but also on the creative/directorial level[1].
Not that that's a new thing, at all, but the openness about it is, I think. It's like Negima represents Akamatsu's efforts to become a manga editor by hiring people to write his manga for him. And then "Ken Akamatsu" becomes a brand or a style more than an individual artist... but that's what he always wanted and always said he wanted, so...
[1] Or at least Akamatsu is going to some pretty extreme effort to make it look that way. But that's the same thing for our purposes.

Negmia is already over, it breaks my heart but you know as well as I do that ken doesn't own the rights to series.

I'll try it if it's a new battle manga.
If it happens to be more Negima! expect me to be glued to my computer in anticipation.
The Negima! universe has atleast 1-2 arcs left in the main story, and Akamatsu said the current ending is only temporary.

Not seeing it. Sorry. The narrative's been tying off story threads faster than it's been spinning off new ones for something around fifteen volumes. Most of the complications introduced in the magical-world have been short-term [fairly] quickly-resolved "twists" [ii imi de!]; I've had it pegged at running forty-odd volumes for years. Less, because the pace has been picking up after the Negi/Rakan fight [as you'd expect for a work nearing its climax!], but that's just less decompression more than dropped story arcs.
There is some stuff unexplored... but the only real way it could have been done is by shoving, say, a three-volume mini-arc hanging on some of the background characters between the festival and the magical world, and that would have absolutely killed the pacing. So yeah.

It's been stated by him that this manga isn't going to be a Negima continuation.
If this is his last manga then that means his promise to continue Negima basically is going unfulfilled, unless someone else does it with his approval or something.

Uhhh...you know that the manga has ended, right?
Lots of shit was left unresolved
Also the last three chapters blew chunks.

Hey, Akamatsu, I'm still waiting for the rest of Negima.

Uh, have you actually read the ending? The last few chapters add a whole bunch of teases and is the most utter bullshit "resolution" to several major plot points/threads, including the biggest one since THE FIRST CHAPTER.
Actually, it sounds like you didn't even read the end of the magical world arc because holy crap, how can you possible expect them to wrap things up only a few volumes after that? Because the magical world arc alone left some kinda major things unresolved.

It would suck if he retires after this and then leaves us with nothing in terms of a Negima continuation. Unless he passes it off to someone else to work on, which would not really be of much consolation.

Did you not see the Darth Vader moment at the end of the Magical World arc?

I'll buy anything Akamatsu makes, but I really do hope it's a continuation/proper ending to Negima. Such an excellent manga deserves a better ending than what it got.
EDIT: Hey. It's my 100th post. Only took me almost seven years.

As much as I like Akamatsu he always managed to do something with his works that knocked him from my top tier. In love hina, he had keitaro pick Naru over the other girls, any of which were better than her but in particular I favored Motoko and shinbo.
In negima he just I dont know, I honestly think it lost its charm starting with the magical world arc, and then the last few volumes just looked like he had checked out of the building mental. Oh and this time he was like, Im not even going to have Negi pick anyone.
And technically he had 8 volume run of the AI manga, which many authors would kill to have a manga run that long. Plus he had Mao chan anime; so he has had more success than just Love hina and Negima.
