This is awesome! He's definitely put everything on the line for his career, and it paid off for him. So nice to see the college recognize that.

He has a museum in Otsu, the “Super Museum – Time Machine.”

High on my list of places to visit when I hit the Kyoto area.

The article states that he dropped out to pursue his acting career, and does not state that he has ever re-enrolled. Does that mean he's receiving this special graduation diploma 56 years later without his actually earning it by completing any courses? lol

Most likely an "honorary" diploma. Also usually one gets a "degree" from college, not a diploma, unless it's one of those "it's Japan, there it's different" things. Laughing

Dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmm right!

Absolutely criminal that classics like the Sonny Chiba filmography don't have proper, definitive editions.
