I really hope that "The anime isn't ending" doesn't just mean there will still be fanservice OVAs.

You have something against fanservice OVAs?

What, you? Hoping it's not "fanservice OVAs"? This must be the final signal for the end of the world, surely.

Yep, it's probably just going on hiatus for awhile so the manga can get further ahead.

I just hope this isn't going to be an extended hiatus. However, with how much we have caught up, might be about a year or longer.

Congratulations Fairy tail. This means no filler. Bleach should have learned about this before it ended with over 130 episodes of filler.

Another frustrating non-announcement. Why can't anyone in the anime world simply make a straightforward statement? It seems it always has to be some sort of mysterious Delphic pronouncement that leaves fans poking through the goat entrails, struggling to figure out what the hell the message refers to.

Oh well, I guess we'll just have to be patient and find out what this actually means.

i calculated bleach has 166 eps of filler so only 200 cannon but those are filled with recaps from previous eps so yeah it really quick to watch bleach

If they are showing re-reuns then I'd guess that the series must be going on hiatus for 6 months or 1 year.
If the show was just ending, they wouldn't bother to show re-runs.
If this is the case, it's a smart move.
Bleach was pretty much slaughtered by the amount of fillers it has by the end. The original Naruto series was also nearly in the same boat.
I think recent shows have shown that if you have the fanbase, you can go on hiatus and return in a healthy position with no problems.

They would have, but were unable to because of various circumstances.

So yeah...a hiatus then. Decent enough I guess, though I wonder how long they'll be airing re-runs for, since it was sort of annoying to pull this in the very middle of an arc. Guess it's for the best though since depending on how this arc ends, it might be harder to throw in random filler.

Wonder how all the people who were rejoicing in the cancellation thread will react to this...

It was pretty obvious this was going to happen. Still, glad it's official.
