So... 2014 for Kizu? 2015?
Well, I guess first we'll have to see if SHAFT can hit this targeted release date.

I hope that means there will be US screenings this summer too. I can't freaking wait for this movie.

Wow, summer? I was expecting something late-year when they said it'd be out in '13. I'm really hype now.
On a side note, surely with how well the Madoka movies did in their tour around America, we will be getting a simultaneous release, right? Not even a week later than Japan, surely.
I hope they have more theaters for the premier screening as well. Though I'd not hesitate to travel three states away like last time to make it to the Chicago screening, I'd prefer something a little closer to home. (Like Columbus pls)

I'll be satisfied if I can see it within a month of release in Japan...It was a nearly three-month wait for it to come to my area for the first two, after all.
Well, specifically, I'd like it to come out before school starts again at the end of August...

I really hope they can screen it in the US the same week or the following. Going to the screening of the first 2 was a lot of fun.
I wonder if the fact that when I saw it, it had only been in Japan for a week or 2 (each movie) helped its sales. I think Aniplex said the first 2 did quite well.

I logged in just to reply to this... the first two madoka movies had dozens upon dozens of screenings all across the US. I'd feel really bad for you if you keep your head so far up your butt that you missed those repeated announcements

Am I the only one surprised that the announcement was in a men's fashion magazine? Or is that a regular sort of thing?
As far as screenings in the US, I just hope they start before I leave for boot camp in July. Can't exactly take leave from that to go watch Madoka

When I was in Japan, waiting in line for the first day showings of each movie, I was very, very surprised to find that only about 25% of the audience looked like your typical "otaku" ("otaku" in Japan really do look like the "otaku" stereotype, if mostly for their gender, age, and what accessories they're showing off to each other). The rest weren't just outside the stereotype. They were adults with their children (bringing their children to Madoka?!), a ton of groups of older girls, men and women in business suits, and, surprisingly, a TON of old people. I think even some of the younger people in line looked surprised at this. Madoka really hit the mainstream, outside the targeted niche. When I was in Lawson's, looking at the ticket-based lotteries promoting the Madoka movies, I saw a bunch of business men and older ladies (looking like they're in their 50's or above) making comments on the characters ("Oh, look! It's Mami!") or actually buying some of the smaller stuff (like the playing cards--as to not get the figures and start looking like an otaku...). And then, when I went to a Halloween costume party for Westerners and Japanese people together, I won the contest because of my hand-made Kyuubey costume. The older ladies kept having me say things like, "Boku to keiyaku shite--" and "Wake ga wakaranai yo" and such, showing they know the series. And I was in Hikone, a smaller, rural town, where this stuff was only broadcasted on one station, once. Aside from the movies, which I had to travel to Kyoto to see.
To compare this to any other anime movie, even the relatively-mainstream Evangelion 3.0 was made up of about 60-70% of the typical "otaku" stereotype in the audience on opening day in the same theater.
Not to mention, even before I witnessed this all in Japan, I heard this magazine (Smart--THE magazine for Japanese men's fashion, which is popular with a TON of guys in Japan) covered quite a few Madoka stories and comments from people who went to their affiliated barber shops and talked about it, even dedicating 3 covers of their magazine to it, whereas the only other anime/manga they've ever covered to the same extent was One Piece. Female fashion magazines also covered Madoka, though they usually cover Evangelion.
Madoka is still an otaku-niche-targeted work, but like evangelion, it hit the mainstream for one reason or another and... now it's easy to see it everywhere. Nothing like One Piece, but at least a lot of people have heard of it, even if they haven't seen it for themselves. It's not a "classic" just yet.

I can't wait for the first two to come out on DVD, so I can watch them. When I found out about/watched Madoka Magica, I had already missed all local screenings . Now I can't wait to watch them!

Or you know, they may have still lived somewhere that made it inconvenient to get to any of those showings.

There were no screening in Montréal so far. They were all in U.S.A, and some in Canada, but only really far from me.
I really want to see them, ever since the first day those movies got announced.
