You make a list of MacGyver-like characters, yet you DON'T include Master Keaton?!

Yeah.... That ain't right. This is a man who is a true MacGyver in every sense of the word, including making a bomb out of a light bulb, tying makeshift socks together out of rat hides, using his shoes as a pair of bolas, creating a grappling hook using an ID card, and even disarming a bomb... WITH A CHOCOLATE BAR.

Watch this AMV for even more reasons why Keaton belongs on this list: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAaZSkoc37U

Bulma topping this list isn't too surprising. She has made some impressive stuff over the course of Dragonball.

Also for the twins list I'm curious why Hansel and Gretel from Black Lagoon were missing. I totally would have voted for them over anyone else since their pretty memorable. Guess I'll settle with Johan and Anna though only one half of that pair of twins is creepy.

I agree that any list of anime McGuyvers should include Taichi Keaton.

Thank you! Yes yes yes yes yes! Taichi Hiraga-Keaton is the BEST anime MacGuyver! Don't forget he can take out a bad guy with his physical skills just as easily as he can lead a group of archaeologists to survive in the deadliest desert in the world. Actually, that's pretty complex, really.....ah, just see the above AMV.

Yeah, I was looking for Taichi Keaton too. Shocked -- I guess Lynzee hasn't seen Master Keaton....

Unfortunately. I haven't seen that show on a lot of people's shelves. Happy I have it on mine! Cool It's a great show with an atypical protagonist. definitely didn't get enough love. Crying or Very sad

On a related note, I had to pick Johan and Anna from Monster for the new poll. Also, disappointed Filia of Slayers came in 5th for the previous one.

I know what you mean. I was lucky enough to come across a complete DVD set of the original Geneon singles on eBay with a buy it now price of $60 bucks. I snatched that up the instant I saw it.

It bugs me how badly Naoki Urasawa's anime series get treated here in the States. Volume 1 of Keaton was already out of print before volume 8 even came out; Yawara! only got a sub-only release and they only put out the first 40 episodes before dropping it; and don't even get me started on the whole Monster debacle. Mad

At least his books seem to get more respect over here. Neutral

How predictable that Haku won. I'm disappointed. <XP

Tough choice on the twins. I don't listen to very many Vocaloids anymore, but I have to admit to having a soft spot for Rin and Len, so I picked them. I almost went with Johan and Anna, but they're not my "favorites" so much as the "most memorable" male/female twins I've come across. I love Nina to be sure, and Johan is one of if not the best villain I've come across in anime, but I don't exactly find him likeable xD

Hm, don't know about Bulma in #1. She has made some pretty great things, but she hardly had to improvise like MacGuyver. Her father is extremely wealthy and she has access to all the best technology there is. She didn't build the Dragon Radar in a cave with a pile of scraps, she build it in a gigantic research laboratory of her genius scientist father with probably some grade A technology.

Of course, she also built Trunks' time machine and in that timeline she probably did build it out of scraps.

Before i saw the poll answers, i was totally thinking of the Black Lagoon twins... didn't see them, so I went with Tatara/Sarasa. Basara needs a reprinting here....

I was boring and took the question seriously (Kozue and Miki from Utena), but I hope Sora and Haruka win.
