The path to becoming a full fledged studio is tough, huh?

Now you shouldn't usually judge something when you have never read it. But that plot just sounds so incredibly generic I can't see how it won an award. Every single plot element was been lifted directly from somewhere else. Surely someone wrote something at least bordering on originality and entered, or is originality a sin? Rolling Eyes

It makes you wonder how bad some LNs are out there since the ones that win awards and get anime adaptions are the cream of the crop.

And yeah, these kinds of awards are given out to the LNs the publishers think can sell the best... its like a contest where many people submit their LNs and the award winner gets theirs published. Something that doesn't interest otaku wouldn't get picked since it wouldn't have sales potential.

"If I don't successfully pick up 420 girls, I am doing to die in a lot of different ways."
Tagline of the century right there. Also, the title totally makes me think of "17 Girls in a Row" by Steel Panther.

Being a Trigger completionist is weird and funny. These guys will animate (or not-animate, in the case of Inferno Cop) anything! Therefore I get to watch all sorts of stuff I wouldn't have checked out otherwise. The animation here was a little sparing and the story seemed kinda weird, but I like the narrator, and the cute fun movements during the attack scenes and 2:19! Those are very Trigger-y.

Very strange, considering the pedigree over at this studio. Surely they must have some big projects they're not talking about.

My thoughts exactly. Weird, off-the-wall comedy can be great. School life stories too. Hell, even as someone who typically avoids harems I can say there are plenty of great titles among that genre as well. This, sadly, doesn't seem to be anything above or beyond the shlock we've seen for years. Hoping to be proven wrong.

It seems like this will stay just as a PV for the novels at the moment. Trigger has done some subcontract work from time to time so it doesn't really surprise me. They probably still lack a sizable workforce to handle production of their own TV series.
