Sony should get he hell out of the (game) hardware market already.
Sony just keeps screwing up non-stop. If only Ken Kutaragi was still the head TOO BAD! Regrettable considering the PS1 and the KING OF KINGS:PS2. |

Glad my parents kept my older sisters PS2 or else we wouldn't have one.

I know. It's just unheard of for a company to stop making consoles that haven't released games in four years. |

dan9999 never said that stopping production of the PS2 was one of Sony's screw ups. |

I'm rather shocked they were still making the PS2 at all. I actually bought one used about two years ago, in order to play the Silent Hill games. I never even thought that I might be able to get a brand new one!

Better get 1 or 2 PS2 consoles in case my original breaks up.

I'm a bit surprised because the PS2 was still a big seller in developing markets, but on the other hand I'm not too surprised. With the introduction of their next PlayStation home console Sony's going to want the PS3 to replace the PS2 in those markets. It also probably would've been a strain on them to be producing PS2s, PSPs, PS3s, PSVs, and PS4s all at the same time, haha.
FIFA 13, and Pro Evolution Soccer 13 both had PS2 SKUs as 2012 releases, and the latest Final Fantasy XI expansion pack is scheduled to come out in a few months for PS2. |

Well, I still see unopened PS2 games and bundles being sold whenever I go into stores, so I guess I'm not really surprised that it was still being offered.
Then again, it was up until like 2005 that I still saw N64 games at Walmart. |

Guess I didn't clarify, Kenshiroh did get what I meant, my post was not related to the ps2 end cycle, I meant that they Sony should not only stop production of the PS2 but totally get out of the hardware market and leave it to others with better vision and that know more or less at least what the hell they are doing (IMO) and I think many gamers agree Sony screwed up huge this generation, one screw up after screw up since Ken Kutaragi was fired/stepped down. If we were to compare with the golden era of the PS2,the greatest of gaming history this resumes it perfectly: and then And it does not seem like Sony will stop screwing up, specially affecting consumers any time soon, now with their wet dream of killing second hand market, and for those that take this lightly, I and many dont care it could not happen soon or at all, its evil enough that Sony is thinking about such greedy evilness and wasting resources on such immoral corrupt schemes. |

A 10,000 game library! PS2 definitely was one of my favorite consoles. I really wish Sony could figure out a way to incorporate PS2 backwards compatibility!
