How wonderful! Perhaps this will signal a release of all the Captain Harlock universe *coughRIGHTSTUFcough* It's nice to see great artists like this recognized.

On a side note, didn't Riyoko Ikeda also receive kinghthood for her work 'The Rose of Versailles?' I remember hearing about it...

There's still Arcadia of My Youth and its TV sequel.

Félicitations à le Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres Matsumoto! mmm-kiss... mmm-kiss...

(One is supposed to imagine the mmm-kisses with the Bugs Bunny cartoon where Bugs is in the French Foreign Legion, as I recall, and it ends with stereotypical French officer in that silly looking cylindrical hat of theirs kissing his cheeks, to that sound effect. With "La Marseillaise" playing in the background, naturally...)

Great! Very Happy

By the way, didn't Riyoko Ikeda receive a similar honor, too?
