Aww how nice and nostalgic! I'd be interested in seeing this if I ever had the chance. I love the ending of Fruits Basket; it's so sentimental in the best possible way.

Why can't they just animate the whole thing again just like in FMA?

Who know, the secret project by BONES could be this! I hope it will so much!

I wish Oshi no Utae will get a full anime adaptation, too. ^^

I think the real question is who would voice Akito?

I would LOVE if that were the case (and I was wondering if that project had been revealed yet or not), but I'm not pinning my hopes on it yet. Takaya was pretty displeased with the last anime adaptation I believe, so she might not allow any more to be done from any of her manga.

That would be a frickin' Dream. Come. True. I shall now pin my positive thoughts/hopes on that becoming reality. Anime hyper

From what I've seen, Twinkle Stars is a good series too, with plenty of Takaya's patented soap opera-y introspection and melodrama, with characters that are humorous, over-the-top, and yet achingly human. I'm wondering what's taking it so long to be released here, as its ties to Fruits Basket would make it an easy sell for any stateside publisher.

Like everyone else, I really hope this might be an indication of more things to come. Of course, I'm wary of that since all notions of more Furuba anime were pretty much dashed back in 2005; plus, the fact that they're recording for the final chapter makes it seem more like a token to the fans meant to give some semblance of closure to Fruits Basket as a franchise, but still, a person can dream. And with everything else under the sun seemingly getting a reboot right about now, why not (I mean, it's only one of the most successful shojo manga series of all time, it's not like there's loads of money in it or anything RIGHT)? Everyone wants it except, apparently, Natsuki Takaya; and while I respect her tremendously as an artist and storyteller I've always wondered what exactly happened with Akitaro Daichi and the first season that has given her cause to be so strongly opposed to further adaptations of her work. Maybe she wants a bigger cut of the profits, in which case some wealthy anime studio needs to just buy her off already. x'D

Anyhow, if nothing else, it would be cool if FUNimation could put together a similar reunion of the English dub cast. I would cry~ to hear Laura Bailey and Eric Vale deliver that finale dialogue between Tohru and Yuki. Err, right as I thought about it some dust must have gotten in my eye. Embarassed

I didn't know Natsuki Takaya was against new animated adaptation of Furuba: are you sure, or is it just a rumour?

Anyway, this CD could also be a test to see how the fans and general public would respond, so it's too early to lose hope!

About Oshi no Utae, if you are interested it was published in Italian, and you can find al its volumes in my language. If you can read it you may check them. Feel free to drop me a note if you need help to buy them online. Smile
