I personally don't agree with hentai manga that depicts children but i thought there was nothing illegal about it?I don't understand how all these guys get arrested i mean if this stuff was illegal then how is Rightstuff selling hentai dvd's that have under age characters or how does Manga Gamer sell there visual novels that depicts young girls in sexual acts?

From what I can tell, it generally just comes down to the judge. If they're a prude and thinks "Oh no, the poor fictional children!", the guy might be in trouble. But if they have common sense and actually know the laws, then I doubt people will get into trouble. |

We have more violent crime offenders than sex crime offenders in this country by a sickening margin, why not target the producers of fictional violent content as well? Oh yeah, that's right, somehow it's thought that there's a level of artistry in blowing people's heads up for shock entertainment, thus it certainly can't be negatively impacting others. These censorship laws are just way too arbitrary.

They don't... from what I may have seen with any hypothetical dvd that might contain something loosely termed as 'hen' [hows that for dissembling?] right up front they will say anything on the disc depicts characters at least 18 years old... it's the imported stuff that doesn't contain the banners. I'm sure there's plenty of doujin that cross this line because they aren't translated or released in English, so there isn't any warnings or legal info on them... so then the court looks exclusively at the imagery without context. |

This is sad. There are a lot of fans out there that might be turned on by Sailor Moon, but I hardly think that they're a menace to society that needs to be locked up. This lady ruined her husband's life forever and I hope it keeps her up at night for the rest of hers.

Considering it was labeled as "incest comics," I'm thinking Juan Gotoh manga was probably the bulk of what got him in trouble. I'm glad my wife just wanted me to sell/delete my collection of his stuff (and all my other hentai) and didn't want to turn me into the cops instead. Lame move, lady. I really feel bad for this guy and think this law is total BS. |

The problem is the system is setup where ANY sexual infraction instantly labels you as sexual offender in the eyes of the law. There is no way to differentiate between who raped 5 kids vs. some guy who was caught with an old VHS copy of a Traci Lords porno when she lied about her age that was left behind by a family member in a storage closet at the home during a botched drugs raid. So pretty much if you get caught with one random image of what appears to be an underage looking girl you downloaded from 4chan, your akin to being a serial rapist who likes to fiddle young kids. And note that there is A LOT of manga and anime out there released in the USA that could get you into trouble by some overzealous prosecutor looking to add a sexual predator notch to his belt. That's the thing I can't get over. It was his wife that reported it to the cops. But I have a feeling the guy will filing for divorce after this. But as for the material, it's not clear what it was. It could be scanlations of doujin or hentai on his computer. Either way, it'll be up to if the judge understands what it is. |

I can picture three likely scenarios that brought the wife to the point where she sold out her husband: 1. She really didn't like her husband so much. She may have even looked for something that she could use against him and when she found his "incest comics" folder she reported it to the cops with anger and spite in her heart. 2. She found the folder by accident or walked in on her husband "enjoying" his comics. She was genuinely shocked and appalled by the material and had a big argument with her husband, probably brought the bible into the discussion and all that jazz (I mean, it is Missouri). She just could not live with this person who is now in her eyes rotten (perhaps even evil or possessed by the devil or something) and thought he may also be in need of saving so in a panic she called the cops. 3. Somewhere in the middle. Perhaps something like her finding it and really being disgusted, but kind of just uses it as an excuse to get out of the relationship and she didn't know this much trouble would come out of it when she called the cops. That's all I can think of, anyway. |

And people mock otaku for having 2D waifus. I doubt they have to deal with this. |
