They.... they just omitted the "Mawaru" of "Mawaru Penguindrum?" And then separated the last word into Penguin Drum? (Though that's of less concern to me...)
I mean, is having just "Penguin Drum" really more marketable than "Mawaru Penguin Drum?" I feel this change makes the title lose some of its ambiguity, not so unlike the show which itself has plenty of ambiguity and layers of meaning to spare. Heck, I'm still not too sure exactly what the title is still trying to say (though I have an idea), but reading up on the plays with meaning and kanji within the term, it seems kind of clever, at least.
