I did not know about the Setsuko-lookalike in Spirited Away before this!I'm going to look more into that...

I like how the citizens of Twitter were interacting with the movie and tweeting "koi koi!" during the climax-- it kind of reminds me of the whole "clap your hands if you believe in Tinker Bell" thing from Peter Pan! Super cute.

I love this news, and while I think part of it is because this movie is a lot newer than the other two, I think it really deserves it. If the 'Wolf Children' film is amazing as well, I think he'll have proven himself to be in the same class as Ghibli all on his own.

I watched this film for the first time on Blu-Ray Saturday night, coincidentally. I love it! Hosoda is definitely one of my new favorite directors.

I prefer My Neighbor Totoro overall over Summer Games (I'm lukewarm on Spirited Away), but Summer Wars Kazuma has got to be my favourite character from any of those three films. I'm not entirely sure why, but Kazuma really made Summer Wars work for me; I find the two high school-aged leads bland in comparison. I wish Kazuma could star in his own spin-off TV series.

This is pretty interesting news. Man what a fun movie it was. "Koi Koi" pretty much got me hanging on to the edge of my seat. But then again considering hour internet age, 'Summer Wars' being tweeted is perfect.

I saw Wolf Children on Saturday and while its not as good as Summer Wars, it's definitely a tear jerker. And with Yuki Hosoda has proven that he can make strong, appealing female characters that are up there with Ghibli's best. With his ability to embrace modern themes and tech I really believe that Hosoda is far more relevant today than Miyazaki is.

I'll kindly disagree with the first part of this statement, saw it at the french premiere and I enjoyed it more than summer wars, then again I enjoyed TGWLTT more than summer wars as well.

I missed the airing of Summer Wars since I was out for dinner. =(

Did watch Sen to Chihiro and the second half of Totoro as they aired though. I think seiyuu fans had a lot to do with the tweeting of "Haku" during Sen to Chihiro since he was voiced by a 16-year-old Irino Miyu (Jintan in AnoHana, Haru in tsuritama). I know my TL was full of tweets about him. Anime hyper

Thought I'd save everyone the trouble. I guess it does look a bit like her.
