Wow, that's a rather different style coming out of KyoAni. Cool stuff.

So this is what anti-drug commercials are like in Japan....

Also that last chick at 24 seconds in gave me a serious K-On! vibe.

Yup, that's exactly who she reminded me of.

Article title either contains an error or doesn't quite make sense to me.

it's airing a... commercial advertising studio? or is it airing a commercial called "advertising studio"?

"Airing a commerical advertising the studio"

Anyway, the commercial is adorable. Especially when the girl showed up at the end and found her girlfriend standing in the fountain.

I wonder why Kyoto Animation made commercials about them.

Do they need more investors/sponsors? Are they having hard time recruiting talents? Or are those commercials just for self-indulgence?

I don't see the point of making commercials about themselves unless they serve some kind of purpose.

As I understand it, they buy the timeslot from the network. So the commercials are up to producer/studio. So while technically they are "paying" for the commercial. It's more like they used one CM slot during the show for themselves.

As for the reason why? Who knows. Maybe they want to get more supplemental contract work from regular businesses outside the animation industry? Then again, I don't know if having a CM during your show late at night really helps.

All because they aren't seeing any money out of the airings for themselves.

Probably not. They could at least advertise in a trade publication to ad agencies if such a magazine exists.
