Perhaps some [Yen Press?] will decide to license the light novels.

My thoughts exactly. Was really looking forward to it especially after coming off Nisemonogatari.

Oh SHAFT... You and your delays. I was hoping for more Shinobu especially after her appearances in Nisemonogatari.

"Kizumonogatari film will be delayed past 2012. "
WHY!?!?!
That head popping trailer was all too cool. Was excited to see some serious action especially after Nisemonogatari's... well whatever that was.

Since Kizumonogatari is going to be a movie that heavily relies on action sequences, the delay actually makes me quite happy. Think of it this way, Kizumonogatari is a fantastic opportunity to attract new fans because you do not need any prior knowledge of the series going into the movie. If Shaft is going to go all-out and invest a substantial amount of money into any of the upcoming Monogatari adaptations, it most likely will be Kizumonogatari. More money and time will, hopefully, translate into some of the most ridiculous action sequences we have ever seen.
Spend a lot of money to wow the audience in the theatre in the hopes that they are so enthralled by what they saw that they go out and buy all the Blu-rays for Bakemonogatari, Nisemonogatari, and all subsequent Monogatari adaptations.

Well yes and no. Kizumonogatari is to Fate/Zero as Bakemonogatari is to Fate/Stay Night. The latter two came out (both 2 years in fact) before their respective prequels. While Fate/Zero and simultaneously Kizumonogatari do not "necessarily" require the knowledge of their sequel titles and probably will be presented as such, it helps to know the sequel in this case as it was the original work. It is more likely that events taking place in the prequel will spoil events of the sequel rather than the other way around and thereby potentially making Bakemonogatari a less interesting watch. The staff and author are likely aware that most people will have seen/read Bakemonogatari prior to watching/reading Kizumonogatari and therefore attempt to focus more on the details that Bakemonogatari/Nisemonogatari left out between Shinobu, Koyomi, and Tsubasa. Though the spoils probably won't be to the extent Fate/Zero does to Fate/Stay Night.

I thought that Kodansha had the rights to bring it over to the US, since their Japanese Parent company was the Publisher.

"Sounds" nice, as long as it is "Bakemonogatari" tight and not wasteful "Nisemonogatari" tight. The former was well-paced per arc, while its sequel stretched its thin content out over too many episodes. Seven episodes would have been enough for the show as a whole, not the first arc, itself.

I thought the idea of Shinbo/SHAFT doing a film (especially a Monogatari one) was too good to be true…at least in the aspect of being done on-time. I thought June was too soon for an anime studio that just recently finished a quality-dependent series (Nisemonogatari) and has a history of production delays to also wrap up an even more quality-dependent film two-to-three months later. Now, "past 2012"-later, I was not expecting…

I was right they are gonna adapt the second season volumes as a 2-cour series. I wonder what they're gonna call it though.

Great news about the tv series. However the way the article was written didn't really make any clearer when they will be released.
Shame about Kizumonogatari being postponed though.
