Murder, She wrote:

The work won the Manga Taisho (Cartoon Grand Prize) award in 2010, followed by the Short Work Prize in the 14th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prizes. It has since sold over 5 million copies and inspired a short television anime. Although Yamazaki was born in Tokyo, she now lives in Chicago.

The fact that the main character and all the other primary Romans are so clearly ethnically Japanese, and yet the Japanese characters keep on talking about how the protagonist so obviously a foreigner, is a little ridiculous. And when they showed a short scene of him speaking in his native tongue...it was in garbled English. Wow.

So...you're complaining that there are no Western actors in a Japanese film?

That's like complaining about no Japanese actors in a Western adaption film of an anime/manga.

...Ironic, isn't it? (o_O)

There's no point into arguing about ethical features in shows set in undefined fantasylands. Here whole show premise is based on culture clash, including said features.
