Shouldn't it be mentioned that Kotaku aired this online for a time?

I was so surprised and happy when Kotaku picked it up, and inevitably disappointed not only because they confirmed they weren't going to do more (perhaps not that surprising), but also by how they were all, "Ohh errrr sorry about that, here's a link to a place where you can pirate more!!". A class act.

This, though, this is awesome. Discotek, you keep proving it time and time again, you are the best.

Given how badly they arsed it up. That part of the story being made an "Un-detail" would not fuss me in the slightest.

Let's be brutaly honest, there's many a time where "Oh the fansub is better" is used as an excuse, here is the exception to that rule. Seriously, Kotaku's version was basically sub 4kids level.

Also of note is the fact that Nina Matsumoto, the author of Yokaiden, occasonal penswoman for Bongo Comics and massive GCCX fan (she did this one poster for the USA Special) is doing translation work for this project.

I've never seen GCCX/RGM before, but I do like retro gaming, so I'll probably be buying this. Most likely, this will end up being Discotek's biggest seller.

Heh. Let's not forget the part where Arino and his staff jumped on a plane to San Francisco to see how Kotaku's broadcasting was taking hold and Kotaku not only DIDN'T advertise the event, they didn't run a story on it until a WEEK later. And even then only to publish photos taken by other people. Kotaku didn't even send anyone to represent them at all. If it wasn't for other game blogs and the fansubbers themselves getting the word out, Arino might've been left with the impression that NO ONE liked his show.

In end, it was the strength of GCCX's growing fan community that's spurred this release, not Kotaku's inept and careless handling of the series.

Hopefully, with this DVD will sell well enough that we can get MORE episodes officially released with more content. As such... I recommend everyone buy five! Very Happy

I must agree, I've seen some clips of GCCX in the past, so I "tuned in" for Kotaku's version and couldn't finish the first episode. The presentation was extremely poor and had none of the energy that entertained me in the clips I saw previously.

Discotek's really grabbed my attention recently; I think this and Cobra could potentially be my first purchases from them!
