Apparently, there are fans that will go that far.
You'd think after seeing it more than 5 times, they would stop going to see it.
Well, at least there was different swag at each theater...

I don't know whether to find this admirable or sad.

Quote: | Another fan had previously calculated that it would cost more than 70,000 yen (about US$865) to get all the advance tickets with all their bonuses for the film. |
Not impressive when buying the BDs for both seasons easily costs more than that.

This isn't that big of a deal, I have a friend who owns over $2,000 worth of Twilight merchandise. Including a calendar she payed $450 for... At least K-ON! is good and worth seeing multiple times.

I have to admit I wonder why the calendar was $450. Signed or something?

There's a pretty big difference between spending $865 on movie tickets (which doesn't count food and transportation, cause there was definitely travel involved) and $865 on merchandise.

Eeeeehhhh... I personally have to differ about K-ON being that good that it guarantees multiple rewatch values.

I don't see 'man was arrested' in the title for taking pictures at a movie theater and uploading them to an internet website. These film strip images were like trading cards they were giving out? How much did the k-on popcorn and drink set cost?

For that much money, I hope that calendar was well made and the bare minimum, had free shipping.
Personally I would never spend that much a calendar, but that is just me.
As for the guy, well I will say this, he is devoted and apparently has a great deal of time on his hands.

With the average price for a ticket in Japan being $15+, it is no surprise the fan spent that much. I do understand that the individual probably got a discount for buying in advance and there may have been other discounts available. But, this was a fairly large sum of money to dish out for a single movie in several different venues.
