How long until it gets slammed with some kind of C&D like prior Dragon Ball Z based mods? Well.. maybe not in this case as it's hard to imagine these mods being too popular but that really irritated me a few years ago.

I'm not surprised by this, ever since Elder Scrolls: Oblivion popularity in Japan. Skyrim did sell well in Japan. There's been a lot of anime mod (and weird one) coming out of Japan. For Skyrim, Japanese modder did something like putting Lightning from FF13 in there. Even Miku Hatsune appear in Skyrim courtesy of a Japanese modder. I wonder if any Japanese modders put Kenshiro or Desert Punk in any of the Fallout games.

Given the use of dub music and voice acting I imagine these mods are from the English Dragon Ball fandom. Wink

Well I found out after my last post. when I saw anime mod and Elder Scrolls, I assume Japanese mod. Well you're right, this mod is not made in Japan. Embarassed

And I wouldn't really say Oblivion/Skyrim did well in Japan either, they had pretty low sales all things considered. Especially for a 'big name' Western property.

One of the big reasons i got skyrim for the pc is FOR those crazy hentai mods.

As for the article interesting mods and reminds me that i should get the creation kit so i can try and make that fairy tail style dragonslayer mod i was thinking of.

75,865 unit sold on PS3 (and also the PS3 version was #4 when it first came out in Japan) + 37,037 on 360 for Skyrim on their first week isn't exactly a definition of failure. I've seen other western games that sold better in Japan like Uncharted 3 and Battlefield 3. Western games has also been losing a lot of stigma in Japan.

The thing is first week sales don't mean much, and it's an easy way for sites to spin a point (hence why every movie has a commercial that says it's 'the #1 movie in America', spin enough numbers and you can say anything is #1 depending on how you present the facts). For example, Uncharted 3 sold 124,989 in it's first week, but it's second week was only 16,217. Then it's third was 6,273, and so on. To date it's only sold about 175,028 in Japan. Since other games are in the millions, that's why I say stuff like 70,000 units is 'pretty low sales all things considered. Saying it's 'popular' or 'sold well' is a bit inaccurate.
