I'd guess it's because the intersection of "people who think Swarovski crystals are cool" and "people who think giant anime figures are cool" is about... one guy.

More important: the number of people who thought it was worth $150k was zero.

What the crystals are "worth" and what the figure makers paid for them are two very unrelated numbers.
