Omg, this is SO AWESOME. I would love to get a whole set, but I really want the Chopper piece. So cute! I hope I can buy pieces at the upcoming anime cons!

They should've incorporated Robin and Brook into the set, too.

This looks awesome!
The sculptures look so detailed too!
I would love to own an entire set (but knowing my luck, it'll probably cost an arm and a leg)

It's a shame there's no figure of Chopper in his transformed mode. You know, in case he'd reach the last row and be able to become any chess piece.

Chess shouldn't cost an eye and a leg!

Oh wow, they're back!
Don't watch One Piece, but I've been hunting down the many Dragon Ball chess lines for the past few years with limited success in finishing off the different chess sets. Normally there are hidden pieces that replace the King, but when you buy two boxes and somehow get the same Hidden, that's just bad luck.
You'll need to get two boxes to fill out both sides of the board... but the irritating part is... getting all 8 pawns. I still don't have enough black pawns for my DBZ set. Buying eight boxes is just... yeah.
Here's to hoping they make a DBKai set... and perhaps make different characters/sculpts for black and white for that set. I liked how the first two sets of DBZ had white/hero and black/villain, but the color/greyscale they used for the DB/compilation set's white/black respectively irked me. Felt a little ripped off there.
For the people wondering about other main characters that didn't get pieces, it's entirely possible they'll make a second set with different characters for the second bishop, knight, rook, and pawn. That's what they did with the many Dragon Ball sets, which allowed you to mix and match as you see fit. For example, I use:
King: SS3 Goku
Queen: SS2 Gohan
Bishop: Piccolo and SS Vegeta
Knight: Yamcha and SS Trunks
Rook: Krillin and Tien
Pawn: Dende(s), Chi-Chi, and Hercule
This is cobbled together between four of the five different chess sets that were released for Dragon Ball. Goku is, of course, the King in every set, which allows me to pick the pose and transformation.
I would have hoped they would put multiple pawns per box and cover a few more characters, but maybe they haven't learned... or have they?

Wow, awesome. Beautiful. Disappointed the other characters (specifically Robin) were not added. Would have really completed it.
And Zoro has a peg leg?! The price of wizard chess these days...

I dont think Zoro actually has a peg leg, it just looks that way because of the angle of the photograph. If you look at the way the light is falling on it, you can tell that its curved like a boot.
EDIT: Yeah, i was right. There's a photo at the bottom which show's it from a different angle, its a boot.

I just started One Piece, so I'm a little shocked to see Usopp so...jacked and manly. I hope Funimation is able to make it to the New World stuff with their DVD releases, because I am so fascinated with how much everyone has changed physically. Especially Nami

Hah, at the rate Nami is, ummm, developing, soon she'll be more breast than person. She has grown quite a bit since since her days in Cocoyashi Village.
