I wish his works saw an English release (on DVD Blu-ray) he's one of my favorite directors...

Crunchyroll mentioned the possibility of releasing more works (besides 5 centimeters per second) on dvd/blu-ray in the future. They said something along the lines of releasing their more popular ones, they even mentioned Eve no Jikan (Time of Eve). |

Well if your willing to pay the premium, a couple of his Japanese releases have subtitles. I thought Pale Cocoon also got an European release but I cannot find mention of it now. That said the image attached looks very similar to Pale Cocoon, I wonder if there will be a relationship between the two. |

So happy to see him getting another film to be worked on. I have to admit I was pretty worried when I heard he was directing Kimi no Iro Machi that he wouldn't be able to do more of his awesome independent films.

The CEO mentioned this in an ANNCast episode. I don't remember the specific time but here is the video. animenewsnetwork.com/anncast/2010-08-13 |

that's cool. Time of Eve is one of the best anime movies ever made and Pale Cocoon was a beautiful short film.

It is somewhat disorienting to read an article written in the past tense that pertains to a day yet to commence in one's own locale. |

There is not going to be a physical release of Time of Eve in North America any time soon, best hope is a DTO release. The Japanese Blu-ray has English subs and is very easy to navigate for a non-Japanese speaking person and is not horribly priced, shipping is of course expensive.

Having seen 'Time of Eve' on Crunchyroll and the its movie compilation at a movie festival, I'm quite willing to wait however long it takes for a NA disc release to come to fruition.

Oh right. Too bad. It's really no use for me to buy the ONA now that the movie is out. And also too bad they didn't include subtitles in both releases.

Can't give any details sorry, Directions wants to bring it to America in some form. The Blu-ray edition is not the same as the DVD / Crunchyroll edition, the blu-ray has a bunch of added content. |
