That's pretty damn accurate. It's missing Kamui, though.

I'll be glad just to see more of the DVDs, period.

The show hasn't even sold well enough with sub-only, so we'd have to keep on dreaming for a dub.
We'll be lucky if we even get any more of the sub-only DVD's at this rate.

Btw, Princess Resurrection has got a dub because Sentai will no doubt license the new OVA's so will want exposure first with the original TV series.

Ham-ko is there but not Kamui...!

I think Gintama is one of those shows that would sell better dubbed than subbed because it's a comedy. This show would be the perfect thing for Adult Swim (you get Bleach's action but with South Park style nonsense and humor), so it's a shame they'll probably never pick it up.

Isn't this anime based on the main idea of the Samurai Gold?

I think the problem with dubbing is that many things will be lost in translation. There are so many puns/gags/and the like in the series that it's hard to keep up, even with subs. Try to imagine exposing the series to English viewers who aren't very familiar with the Japanese culture... they probably won't think it's funny... And if they do dub the series and americanize the jokes, then it would be pointless because Gintama will lose its meaning.

Anyway, great [hypothetical] cast. They look like their respective characters.

Gintama is one of those shows that would have to be completely torn down and rebuilt in order to do a dub. Ugh Gintama on AS. I can hear those people who aren't familiar with Gintama moaning over the sentimental moments and voice-over only filler episodes now.
South Park style humor...no.

Sure it did for like a year and then people realized if they wanted to see South Park they could just turn the channel and watch South Park.
