It''l be interesting to see next week's rankings given how Yen Press is dominating the list this time around; it looks like most of the title are new releases so that probably boosted the numbers a bit. The thing to check is how many are still on the list next week. It seems pretty odd even accounting for the new release factor that Viz didn't make it.

Wait, no Sailor Moon anymore?
Either manga sales (in US) are finally rising, or other stuff sells almost nothing.

It seems a bit strange to me that all ten are on the list for the first time.
Are they all new releases? Even if they are I am having trouble believing that they all outsold everything that was in the previous top ten.
I guess that most manga fans must do most of their buying as soon as the book is released.

And why does the NY Times page say that the list is for November 13, 2011?

Awesome! My favorite and first Manga has finally made it back on to the New York Times Best Seller List! And not only that but she's accompanied by Zetsubou Sensei the hottest sucidal teacher in anime. To bad Sailor Moon isn't on the list anymore but it had a great run for about 3 months and the manga was good too but it can't beat my first manga love Yotsuba. Very Happy

It makes perfect sense to me. Besides, every series on the list (besides Drops of God) are regulars to the NYT list. It would be pathetic if weeks-old series beat them out.

I said previous week, not weeks-old.
Is it normal to have a completely new top ten every week?

Yeah, companies tend to grab a certain week in particular, and release a whole bunch of quality or popular titles in that week. Viz has a tendency with their mega weeks the first of each month to pretty much dominate. I think there's been a time or two where it was ALL new Viz titles. I say a completely new top ten happens, about once every two months, more if you have 9 new and 1 older title.
