I hope to god someone documents one of these, and Conan O'Brian gets ahold of it.

I always love the fact that they make men pay so much more than women at this events. It's like they're saying, "male otaku with no money don't deserve to find love." Can't they even out the amounts they charge to a more reasonable middle ground and therefore allow for a larger variety of people to attend? Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way, though.

That sounds like comedy gold just waiting to happen. But with so much material, where would Conan ever start?

What kind of otaku cannot find a way to scrounge enough money to buy something not even as expensive as a LE?

At first I thought this was kinda a dumb idea. But now I get it...I mean, it's one thing to date another otaku, but if you both have NO anime in common, you'll have little to talk about. So they get people who like the same series to date/socialize. I like it~
Aside from the paying. Seriously. Why should guys pay THAT much? I don't think the people going should have to pay at all.

It weeds out people who are not serious (desperate) about it.
